It was found that the Curie temperature of silver can be up to 120K when Eu2+ levels are close to 20% 15%. This is due to the inherent ferromagnetism in EUN. Potential exchange mechanisms were discovered by transport measurements.
Europium nutride is an electronic semiconductor that has a nonmagnetic 3+. Substoichiometric Europium Nutride contains both a 2+- and 3+ mixed charge states. Our results show silver to be ferromagnetic with Curie temperatures above 120 K at concentrations of 2+ > 15-20%. Thus, the new silver atom can be described as a diluted magnetic semiconductor.
