alumina ball is a type of ceramic material that offers high heat, wear, chemical resistance and electric insulation properties. This product is often used as a grinding media in cement, enamel and glass factories. It is made of pure aluminum oxide and can be alloyed with small amounts of copper, magnesium, silicon, manganese, or other elements to provide a range of useful properties.

alumina balls are available in a wide range of sizes and materials to suit specific applications. For example, 68 percent 60 mm alumina balls are suitable for tower mills and IsaMills. These ceramic beads are also abrasion-resistant and won’t soften or expand in the presence of water. They can also withstand temperatures up to 3180 °F.

These ceramic inert packing balls are resistant to acid and alkaline solutions, as well as to abrasion and corrosion from many industrial chemicals. They can be used as support and cover materials in reactors to buffer the influence of liquid and gas on low strength active catalysts. They can also be used to help maintain dimensional stability of the reactor.

alumina balls are also commonly used as a desiccant to prevent moisture during shipping. They can be found in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, aerospace, and hydrogen peroxide plant manufacturing. They can also be used to adsorb and remove hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrocarbons, and other volatile contaminants in the air. The large surface area and capillary channels of these inert alumina balls make them a good choice for defluorination treatment of fluorine-containing water.
