sodium carbonate anhydrous is one of the most common forms of the chemical and it is widely used in various industries. It is available in small packing as well as bulk packaging and is suitable for all kinds of industrial applications. It is offered by leading lab chemicals manufacturers and suppliers in India, UAE Middle East, Barka, Muscat, Oman.

It is a white odourless, water-soluble salt with the chemical formula Na2CO3. It has many hydrates and forms in nature and it can be found in the earth as either carbonate or trona. The hydrated form of sodium carbonate is produced by the Solvay process and the anhydrous form is produced from natrite, a mineral which erupts from Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano in Tanzania, and from ultra-alkaline pegmatitic rocks such as those in the Kola Peninsula in Russia.

Sodium carbonate is also referred to as washing soda and is a commonly used component of laundry detergent. It is a contaminant of freshwater ecosystems and it has been reported to affect adversely the immunophysiological status of a sponge, Eunapius carteri. Washing soda exposure led to a marked decrease in the phagocytic response of sponge cells, an increase in superoxide anion production and nitric oxide generation, a decline in lysozyme activity and a significant impairment in the activity of acetylcholinesterase. The results showed that the toxicity of washing soda was due to its neurotoxic effects in sponges.
