Aluminum Silicide AlSi2 (Powder):
Aluminum silicon alloy is forging, casting and combining aluminum and silicon. The typical silicon content of aluminum is about 11%. It can also contain small amounts copper, iron, or nickel to improve its strength. The density is approximately 2.52.7. 3.0 g/cm3, Thermal Conductivity is About 101126W/(m), Young’s Motu is 71.0GPa. It has an impact value of 78.5J and a fatigue limit of 45MPa.
AISi alloys are light and have high thermal conductivity. It also has a certain strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and hardness.
The Aluminum-Silicon Alloy forms a binary phase in 11.7% Silicon. At room temperature it has a maximum solution of 0.8% and then aluminum solid solutions. There are no intermetallic chemicals. The eutectic can be improved and the strength increased by adding small amounts of sodium. Iron even in small amounts can make it tougher, though manganese is an option to decrease this.
Alsi alloy – This is an industrially important alloy. Al-Si silicide finds a lot of use in transport, aviation, construction and many other industries. Also, it is used to produce low- and moderate strength castings of complex shapes with intricate forms such as covers plates, motor housings, brackets, etc. Brazing solder also uses racks. It’s a common eutectic alloy with a simple phase chart and no intermediate compound production. It is very cost-effective, has good casting properties and high specific strengths. Silicium is the semiconductor element and aluminum is the element from the third main group. There is very little solid solubility.

How is AlSi2 Powdermanufactured?
The alloy temperature for the electrothermal procedure to make aluminum-silicon alloy is 2000°C. In the metallurgical step, alumina is in liquid form. It is generally possible to reach temperatures of around 1350 2200°C.

If the silicon content in aluminum-silicon is less than 0.7, it will have a better ductility, so it can be used often as an alloy deformed. When silicon content is more like 7%, it will fill the aluminum-silicon melt faster, which is why it’s used most commonly to create Cast alloy.
If the Al-Si alloy has a high silicon content (silicon concentration of 12.6%), and the silicon particles content is higher than 14.5% to 25% then adding in a small amount of Ni or CU can enhance its mechanical properties.
For a significantly reduced weight, these can be used instead of cast-iron cylinders. An electrochemical treatment of the aluminum/silicon alloy can be done to alter the surface and keep the primary silicon spots embedded in the substrate. Thus, the cylinder’s wear resistance and scratch resistance can be markedly improved.
One of them is the alloy with a 11% to 13% silicon level. This alloy has proven to be light and resistant to corrosion.
